A simple way to spot a British comic... look for the "but!" "and..." or "then-"'s in the top of every few panels... I always found those amusing for some reason...
At last a full-color (er, "colour") story from an old Brit comic! Notice that only the donkey gets the full-on realistic art - most of the people looked dashed-off.
