Wow, you picked a doozy to kick off the new year. 12 cent cover price means '60s, but it sure doesn't look '60s, more like '50s. This is such a strange duck that I had to look it up on GCD. Sure enough, reprinted from Journey Into Unknown Worlds #6, 1951. And I just noticed that it doesn't have the CCA seal, which makes sense.
The cover to this thing is supposedly by Andru/Esposito, but I don't see it. Well, maybe. They don't even hazard a guess as to writer/artist for the story.
But ya know, it's still better than the self-published crap from the '90s. It kinda sorta makes sense if you squint and drop a couple tabs.
